Fall 2011 loves

Here's my absolute favourite trends this fall:

Long shirts and cardigans with leggings and hels

Small leather jackets or "shrunken biker jackets" as someone said

Open sweaters and cardigans that you can match and layer or close with a belt <3

Shorts with tights and either boots or heals

Shoes with heals, lacing, fake fur, or studds. I also love the once that have the slightly higher front that makes the heals look way higher than they really are ;)

Leather bags

Slim belts that go ontop of your shirt

Big rings <3 long necklaces <3 beady and "earthy" bracelets
Tube Scarves

And when it comes to makeup I like to accentuate either the lips or the eyes. And don't forget to fill in the brows! The brows frame your face so shaping and filling them in makes all the difference in the world!

If I go for stronger eyes I like using a dark grey toned eyeshadow and curl my lashes to max and top with my favourite lengthening mascara -and never forget the eyeliner in black to get the perfect cat eye look. I leave the lips pale and add just a touch of lipbalm or lipgloss.

Then again if I want to focus on the lips I use a more neutral and natural toned eyeshadow (like beige-brown-ish) and line my eyes with a dark purple or grey instead of black (purple is a good choise if you have blue or green eyes because it will brighten up you eyecolour). Then I can use a stronger coloured lipstick. As a result you look more sophisticated and not "overly done".

Why I love my mascara

I just had to say this again: I love my mascara! Maxfactor's false lash effect fusion mascara, and it really works for my lashes! I recommend it to all who have thick (-ish) lashes -I'm not so sure it will work on really thin lashes (thin lashes should use a mascara that is a bit more liquid-like...)

Here's why I love it:

(and no, I am not wearing false-lashes :P)

Life saving olive oil ^^

Hi guys!

Just posting a small tip today ^^

And that is: OLIVE OIL!
Olive oil is really awesome! It's all natural and it moisturizes the skin better than most creams!

You can us it for:
* Dry hands
* Nails and cuticles
* As an ingredient in facial masks
* As an ingredient in hair masks

For example: you get the best and simplest (that's propably not even a real word, but it sounds funky :P) hair mask ever, if you mix:

* 1/2 an avocado (mashed)
* 2 egg yolks
* 3 tbl spoons of olive oil

Just rub in towel dried hair, leave in for about 10 minutes (use shower-cap to keep in the warmth and moisture) and rinse with cool water (and PLEASE don't use hot water and DON'T go in the sauna, or you'll end up with scrambled eggs in your hair!! :P Believe me...). And don't forget to rinse your hair with cold water for 10 seconds to give int more shine and to seal the split ends.

That's my tip of the week! ^^ Hope you enjoyed :)

Pixie's Green Tea Facial Scrub

You guys should know that I absolutely LOVE tea! <3

I drink at least two cups every day! Did you know that tea is really healthy and good for you? Especially green tea. It is rich in antioxidants which helps your body to get rid of all kinds of toxicns and stuff that your body needs to get rid of. So I recommend at least one cup of tea a day to everybody ^^

But tea is not only good when taken inwardly -you can use the left over tea to make a facial-scrub!

Here is my favourite green tea facial scrub:

Here's what you'll need:

*2 tablepoons of green tea

 * 3 tablespoons of sugar

* 1 teaspoon of  lemon (or a few drops of lemon oil)

* 1 teaspoon of honey

As I said, the green tea is rich in antioxidants which clears out toxins and rejuvinates the skin. It is also a skin calmer and healer so a person with sensitive skin can really benefit from it! The sugar exfoliates the skin, which means it peels of excess dead skin cells, removes scarring and helps you skincells renewing this makes your face softer and smoother. The lemon works as a cleanser, killing bacteria that causes spots and blackheads. The honey is (like green tea) also rich in antioxidants and has good healing qualities, while it also works as a mosturizer. So...

Here's how you'll do:

1) Make your green tea -either loose or in a bag, doesn't really matter. I prefer to use ecological green tea
since there are no extra preservatives in it. Make your tea strong with only 1/4 cup of water. Leave it to cool untill it's luke warm.

2) Add 2 tablespoons of sugar in a small cup or container and add the 2 tablespoons of cool or luke warm green tea. Stirr it a bit.

3) Add another table spoon of sugar. The consistency shoul now remind a bit of wet sand. If the sugar is melting it means your tea is too hot.

4) Add the lemon and honey into the mixture and stirr.

5) Let it cool in refridgirator for about half an hour and it's ready!

6) Wash your hands and rinse your face with cool water

7) Use your fingers (not palms!) to massage the green tea facial scrub in circualr emotions allover your face, avoiding the sensitive areas around the eyes.

8) Massage for about 2-3 minuter (never more than 5) and rinse of with cool water.

 9) Finnish of with a bit of toner (for example green tea mixed with a tablespoon of lemon)

TaDaa! :D And you' re done! Your face should now feel clean and smooth :)
